What Mental Health Is and Is Not

Mental health is:

  • A part of everyone’s life

  • Something you can and should look after

  • Real and complex

  • Really important to overall well-being

  • Something you can improve with the right support and tools

Mental health is not:

  • A sign of weakness

  • “All in your head”

  • Something you can just snap out of

  • Always a negative thing

  • Something to be ashamed of

Taking care of your mental health is a strength. Let’s talk about it, support one another, and break the stigma.
